WORK EXPERIENCE:

2008 to present: REPORTER. Have written more than 100 stories about national security, aviation, baseball, and other topics, for The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Garden & Gun, Portico, and The Birmingham News, among others.

 

2005 to present: NOVELIST.  Wrote books Pirates of Pensacola (St. Martin’s Press, 2005), Once a Spy (Doubleday, 2010), Twice a Spy (Doubleday, 2011), and 7 Grams of Lead (Doubleday, 2013). Once a Spy made the New York Times’ Best Seller list.

 

1994 to 2004: SCREENWRITER/TV WRITER.  Wrote feature film screenplays purchased by Tri-Star, Paramount, Disney, and Enigma. Wrote for two MTV shows. Wrote/directed a short film that played in the Sundance Film Festival, won the Laura Napor Award and was purchased by Channel 4 in England.

 

1988-93: COPYWRITER. Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, NYC. Wrote print ads and radio and television commercials for many clients including General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Northwest Airlines, Con Edison, Mellon Bank, Toyota, Molson, Johnson & Johnson, Krystal, and the New York Philharmonic.

 

1986: Professional Baseball Player. Paris, France.  Played second for the French Baseball Association champs. Hit over .300 in European League play.
