Lockheed Martin’s LMZ1M is a manned cargo lifting hybrid airship incorporating a number of advanced features including a tri-lobed envelope with a 1.3-million-cubic-foot displacement, thrust vectoring, and an air-cushion landing system that enables the aircraft to operate without a ground crew. With a gondola that can fit two crewmen, eight passengers, plus cargo, the ship will be deployed for tactical airlift, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, as well as "special missions not currently possible with conventional aircraft," per Lockheed [more on the company’s site].
